Unidentified miscreants slaughtered a boatman to death at a village in Narail district on October 4 last. The deceased was identified as Abdus Sattar,40, son of Late Abdur Rahman of Pankabila village of Narail Sadar upazila, Police and family sources said, boatman Abdus Sattar Fakir was returning home at midnight after his day's work. On the way some miscreants took him forcibly to the paddy field and slaughtered to death. Police recovered the body from the spot the following day and sent it to Narail Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

SI Gopal Ganesh Biswas of Narail Sadar Thana told, investigation is going on. Officials of Police department visited the place of occurrence. But no case has been filed yet.
