Photo Exhibition: Photo show in November To pay tribute to deceased of cyclones

Entertainment Report

A four-day photo show to pay tribute to the deceased of the 1970 and 2007 cyclones that pounded on the coastal areas leaving a tail of destruction and thousands of people homeless will be held at the National Art Gallery of the Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in November.

Hope 87 Bangladesh and Bangladesh Shilpa-kala Academy will jointly organise the show. The show will begin on November 12.

This was disclosed at a press conference at the National Press Club recently. MA Mannan, Director of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, Convener of the photo competition GS Ansary, Mono-war Hossain Akhand, Kaiser Alam and Rezaul Karim, among others, were present at the conference.

In the press conference, the organisers requested the photographers to send their entries featuring the grave destruction of the cyclone-hit areas. A jury board will select the images for the show. They will also honour 10 photographers.

The best photo will receive Tk 20000 and a crest while others will also be awarded with money, certificates and crests, said the organisers.

Participants interested for the show can send their entries by October 25 to Hope 87 Bangladesh at Eskaton in the city.
