Bangladesh trade fair in Dubai from Nov 19

A 3-day Bangladesh Single Country Trade fair will be held at Rolla Square in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on November 19-21.

Dhaka International Exhibition Company (DIEC) has organised the fair where all sorts of Bangladeshi products and services could participate to explore Bangladesh in the UAE, said a press release.

Saudi envoy pledges help for workers' welfare

Saudi Ambassador to Dhaka Abdullah NA Al Bussairy yesterday assured the government of taking care of the welfare of Bangladeshi workers employed in his country.

His concern came at a meeting with LGRD adviser M Anwarul Iqbal at his office in Bangladesh Secretariat, said a statement by the Press Information Department.

They discussed bilateral relations of the both countries during the meet, it said.

Both the leaders expressed their confidence that the existing friendly relations between the two nations would be expanded further in the future.

BUET admission test Nov 20

The admission test of different faculties of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) for the session 2008-09 will be held on November 20.

The admission form fee was fixed at Tk 500 for "Ka' unit included Engineering Departments and Urban and Region Planning Department while Tk 600 for "Kha" unit included aforesaid two disciplines and Architecture Department.

The admission form will be available at its Registrar office from October 14 to November 1.

The students who passed HSC or equivalent examination this year with minimum GPA 4 will be able to appear in the admission test.

Besides, the admission seekers must have to get GPA 4 in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and GPA 3.5 in English in the HSC and equivalent examination.

A total of 885 seats have been reserved for the admission of the first year students in the university.
