Law enforcers arrested eight miscreants including drug traders and snatchers and recovered 390 bottles of foreign wine in separate incidents in the September 26 night and September 27.

On a tip-off, detective police raided the Ice-factory Road area under Double Mooring Thana here on Saturday and arrested drug trader Saifuddin Ahmed with 390 bottles of foreign wine. On another tip-off, a RAB squad raided the Pahartali CDA market area last night and arrested Mohammad Safiullah, 28, and Israfil 30.

During the primary interrogation, the arrested persons confessed that they were engaged in stealing electric wire and transformer for a long time.

Patenga thana police arrested five persons while snatching belongings of the pedestrians at the VIP Road area last night. They are: Rana Hamid, 20, Al Amin, 21, Mintu, 21, Monir Hossain, 22, Abdullah Al Amin,25.
