Police seized 220 sacks of urea fertiliser and arrested three persons from a truck during a raid at Bhatoi Bazar under Shailkupa Upazila in the district on Saturday.

Police said, acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a truck at Bhatoi bazaar on Jhenaidah-Kushtia road and seized the fertilisers.

Three persons were also arrested in this connection. Police sources said the fertilisers were being transported to Chittagong to sell those in black market. A case was filed with Shailkupa Police Station accusing five persons.
