Indian sarees worth Tk 12 lakh seized in Habiganj

Police in a drive seized smuggled Indian sarees worth about Taka 12 lakh from Durlovpur village under Madhavpur upazila in the district on Sunday morning.

Acting on a secret information, a team of police raided the house of one Abdul Aziz Miah of Durlavpur village in the early hours of Sunday and recovered 550 sarees from there. Sensing the presence of police, Aziz and his accomplices fled the scene.

A case was filed with Madhavpur police station in this connection.
