Leaders of Sheikh Hasina Mukti Sangram Parishad in US called on Awami League President Sheikh Hasina at New York recently, says a press release.

The six-member team, led by chairman of the Mukti Sangram Parishad Badal Akand, held an hour-long meeting with the former premier of Bangladesh.

Among others, vice-chairman of the organisation Jalal Uddin Jalil, Secretary General Kaikobad Khan, joint secretary Golam Kibria Bachchu and leaders of US unit of Awami League including publicity secretary Hokiqul Islam and agricultural affairs secretary AB Siddique were present.

Sheikh Hasina expressed her gratitude for their efforts to get her free from the prison. "All you have done is in the interest of establishing democracy in Bangladesh," she said.
