The dependents of 15 dead garment workers has received the cheques for money of their group insurance.

The cheques were distributed at a function organised by Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) at its office in the city.

BGMEA director SM Mannan Kachi presided over the function while vice president of Delta Life Insurance Dr Ashraf Uddin and BGMEA standing committee chairman on UD Knit Kutubuddin Ahmed attended the function.

Director Kachi handed over the cheques to the relatives of the workers who died in different accidents.

A special munajat was also offered seeking peace of the departed souls.
