Theatre News: New theatre group formed

A new theatre group called 'Bottola' was formed recently. A break-away group of theatre activists who worked in the theatre group 'Subachan' have formed this new group with the aim of strengthening theatre activities.

'We are delighted to inform you that a new theatre troupe has been formed with some energetic young and skilled theatre activists of the country's theatre arena with unique vision, aesthetic and -creative goals,' says Mizanur Rahman, chief executive of Bottola. The organisers hope that members of the group will be able to prove their talent more professionally and skilfully.

Terming the new group as a platform both for the aspiring and experienced theatre activists, Rahman says, 'we will welcome the theatre-loving people who will be interested in using this platform.

We will work to create a platform which will uphold professionalism in theatre activities.'

About their next programme, the chief executive informs this correspondent that they have already started working on different scripts.

'Among the scripts, we are studying seriously a script of Abdullah Hel Mahmud,' he says. One of the founding members of Bottola, Samina Luthfa, says that the name of the group Bottola indicates its openness. 'It is created with the aim of working more sincerely and professionally.

This platform will help the theatre activists to practise theatre more skilfully. It will create an opportunity to expose the ability of its members,' Luthfa hopes. She further hopes that the new theatre group will give space to the students of theatre departments of the universities so that they can show their talent and all that they have learnt.

Joseph Satabdi has scripted the drama, Mohammad Hannan has directed the serial.

Shakiba, Nasim, Sharmily Ahmed, KS Firoze, Siraj Haider, Rokeya Prachi, Pallab, Sumona Soma, Farhana Chhabi, Tumpa, Kumkum Hasan, among others, performed in the serial.

Story of O amar chokkhu nai:

Kashem Chowdhury is a rich man. He has two sons and one daughter. Elder son was looking his business and younger son was working at a private firm. Doctor Farid was their close neighbour. He had lost his wife. He has a daughter. The story of the drama continued with various complexities.

TV Show: Rtv airs Priyodarshini tonight

Drama serial 'Priyodarshini' to be aired on Rtv at 9:10pm today. Pranab Bhatta has written the story of the drama. Nazrul Islam and Arun Chowdhury have jointly scripted and directed the 52-episode of the serial.

Dilara Zaman, Suborna Mustafa, Tazin Ahmed, among others, performed in the serial.

Story of Priyodarshini:

The story of the drama serial is based on the lifestyles of women and their emotions.

Of these women, some are mother, some other wife or girlfriend or sister. In one hand, a mother was searching her daughter, on the other hand a daughter found another mother.

They built up a new life. As a result, a relationship built up. Therefore, somewhere there is a conflict between husband and wife. Alls take place in the stories of 'Priyodarshini.'

Bollywood: Aishwarya is my bhabi: Goldie Behl

Goldie Behl's Drona is yet to hit the marquee and how much the audience will like it is still awaited to be known. But before that the director has announced its sequel. He is least bothered about the box-office result and he desires to cast Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan in Drona 2. About casting Ash, Goldie said, "Aishwarya is my 'Bhabhi' and if she likes the subject and role, it would be privilege and honor for me to work with her." Goldie is confirmed about casting Abhi but he is yet to get confirmation from other actors.

The film is a dream project of Abhi and Goldie, which they have seen and cherished from childhood and therefore he is least, bothered about the box-office result of the film and confirmed making a sequel to Drona at any cost. In an interview, he revealed, "When I wrote this film, I had written so much that it cannot be incorporated in a single film. The end of the film leaves a question mark. So there is already a story before and after the film. It has a prequel and sequel written in the story form. I am sure people would like to know what happened before and after this." The film is slated for an Oct 2nd release and Priyanka will be seen as Abhishek's bodyguard. Time will say whether Aishwarya would replace Priyanka in Drona's sequel or not. - Agency

Hollywood: Kate Moss joins the Olympic bid

British supermodel Kate Moss wants the Olympic Games to be held in her native country. The beauty has joined her fashion friends Paul Smith, Mario Testino and Sam Taylor-Wood in their new project 40 Artists, 40 Days, to raise awareness of the attempt of the United Kingdom to host the XXX Olympic Games.

Paris, New York, Moscow, Madrid and London are vying, making bids, to host the 2012 Olympic Games, and in early July the results will be announced. Britain will be counting down 40 days till July 5, the day the International Olympic Committee will choose a city to host the Games. Until that time, photos of Kate Moss, made by fashion photographer Mario Testino, will be dispayed on Tate Online, www.tate.org.uk/40artists40days, alongside with other original videos, music, texts, performances and visual art.

Moss will be photographed by Testino for the project, which will tout some of the city's unique selling points, including Paul Smith's London logo and boxing prodigy Amir Khan photographed by Taylor-Wood.

"The vision for 2012 is that sport and the arts will come together in London for the biggest celebration this city has ever known," said Tate Online director Sir Nicholas Serota, according to British Vogue.

Meantime Moss' boyfriend Pete Doherty dreams to marry the supermodel the next weekend. The Babyshamble's frontman says:

"We're driving through Gretna Green next weekend, so who knows? I might be able to persuade her," femalefirst.co.uk cited the singer.
