Jamaat-e-Islami Bangladesh Ameer Maulana Motiur Rahman Nizami yesterday left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia to perform 'Umrah' at the invitation of the Royal Saudi Arabia government. He is accompanied with his wife.

Muhammad Kamaruzzaman, acting secretary general, Abdul Kader Mollah, assistant secretary general, Prof Mazharul Islam and members of the central 'Majlish-e- Shura' among others saw off Nizami at the Zia International Airport.

Maulana Abul Kalam Muhammad Yousuf, senior Naeb-e-Ameer and Muhammad Kamaruzzaman, acting secretary general of the party would act as acting Ameer and Secretary General of the party respectively.

Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujaheed, Secretary General of the Party is also in Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah.

Maulana Nizami is expected to return on September 28.
