Film News: Tanvir Mokammel in India as special artiste

Country's noted filmmaker Tanvir Mokammel has been invited by the Indian Government for a 10-day India tour in October, as part of the 'Distinguished Visitors Programme.'

During the tour, Tanvir will attend retrospectives of his feature and documentary films to be held at Nandan in Kolkata (on October 11 and 12) and Delhi (on October 18 and 19).

He will also speak at Jadavpur University in Kokata and Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi and visit the Pune Film Archive. Tanvir Mokammel will meet-up with eminent Indian filmmaker Mrinal Sen, Aparna Sen and Buddhadeb Dasgupta during the tour.

Photographer Lutfar Rahman’s death anniversary today

Today is the second death anniversary of noted photographer Lutfar Rahman. He was the personal photographer of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. His photographs on the election of 1954, election of 1970 and Liberation War are famous. He worked as a photographer in Bangladesh Betar for many days. He was known as the 'archive of photography' of the country's politics. To mark the day, a milad mahfil to be held at the residence of Lutfar Rahman at Mohakhali in the city today after Asar prayer.

Bollywood: Boyfriend Aditya ignores Rani’s emotions

For quite some time, Rani Mukherjee and Aditya Chopra's relationship is going through a rough patch. They are having differences of opinion on various issues.
