Female poura councillor, college teacher chopped in Narail

A group of terrorists chopped one female councillor and an elderly college teacher on Saturday at about 5 PM in front of the Narail Sadar Upazila Parishad Office.

Police and eye witnesses said, following a dispute between contractor and locals over selecting a place for building a temple in Durgapur village under Narail Pourasava financed by Zila Parishad the accomplices of the contractor beat Ipi Rani Adhikary, 40, acting councillor of Narail Municipality, Professor Sreedham Singha 57, and Bidhan Das, 35, seriously chopped them and left them seriously wounded on the road. The pedestrians took them to Narail Sadar Hospital. Among them Ipi Rani Adhikar and Prof. Shridham Singha were sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital as their condition was crtical. Bidhan Das left the hospital after receiving first aid.

When contacted Md. Nazrul Islam OC of Narail Sadar Thana confirmed the matter and informed that two of the accused were arrested in this connection.
