Judge of Jhalokati Abdur Rob sentenced one Badsha Howlader age 27, to suffer imprisonment for life on charge of committing rape.

The verdict was announced in open court on 10th September last in presence of the accused. Badsha Howlader in the son of late Altaf Howlader of village Madhya Kamdebpur of Nalchhity Upazila.

According to prosecution case Badsha Howlader committed rape on one Rani Begum of the same village in the afternoon of 1st February of 2005 when the victim was alone at her house. As a result of this the victim became pregnant and gave birth to a child. Rani Begum the victim filed case against Badsha who at trial was found guilty by the court and was sentenced accordingly.
