5 held with phensidyl in Sirajganj

Sirajganj, Sept 12 : Police arrested five people alongwith 1,750 bottles of phensidyl syrup from Gol Chattar area under Jamuna Bridge (West) thana. Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a Dhaka-bound private car from Rajshahi at about 8:30am. They searched the car and recovered 1,750 bottles of the cough syrup. The law enforcers also arrested five car passengers for possessing the contraband item, reports UNB.

Minor boy drowns in Sirajganj

Sirajganj, Sept 12 : A minor boy drowned in flood waters at Nabbila village in Shahjadpur upazila Friday. The dead was identified as Sagor, 6, son of Tayeb Ali. Family sources said Sagor slipped into flood water while playing in his house at about 11am, reports UNB.

Opiniuon sharing meet on CEPZ held

Comilla, Sept 12 : An opinion exchange meeting here Friday discussed various problems of Comilla Export Processing Zone (CEPZ), including the recent workers unrest. The meeting, held at Police Super's conference room, also emphasized the need to continue normal production at the EPZ by resolving workers unrest. A coordination committee has also been formed to look into the interest of the workers and entrepreneurs to avert any untoward situation in the EPZ, reports UNB.

11 suspected snatchers held in Ctg

Chittagong, Sept 12 : Eleven suspected muggers were arrested by Kotwali police during a daylong drive here Tuesday. Kotwali police said they conducted the drive from morning to 5pm and recovered two stolen CNG-run auto-rickshaws and 20 mobile phone sets from the gang. A case was filed in this connection, reports UNB..
