Call to arrest price hike of essentials

A protest rally against adulteration of food, price hike of essentials was brought out by the Social Development, a non-government organisation and the Caritas at Bhulta, Rupganj, Narayanganj on the 6th September last. Later they organised a protesting meeting at the Bhulta Intersection near Dhaka-Sylhet highway chaired by Zohara Akter, Chairman of the Social Development non-government organisation. People from all walks of life attended the meeting and took part in the procession. Shahabuddin Secretary, Poet Naib Ali, Adus Salam, Rafiqul Islam, Mohammad Ali of the Social Development non-government organisation and Farid Ahmed, Jatindra Chandra Das, Azahar Uddin, Nurul Islam, Renuka Rani Sarker and Anna Palma of KARITASH activists addressed the meeting. They demanded to arrest the price hike of essentials and keep markets free from adulterated food.
