Police launched simultaneous raids on three dormitories of Dhaka University on Sunday night, following recent student strife.

The operation in Amar Ekushey Hall, Shahidullah Hall and Fazlul Haq Hall started at 10:45pm and continued till the filing of the report at 00:30am.

There were no reports of arrest during the nighttime raids.

It was believed that the police action was prompted by recent trouble on the DU campus, particularly involving the activists of two major student organizations-Chhatra League and Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal.
