Without accountability and transparency, truth and justice, our liberty and democracy, and human rights are useless and a farce.

We respect Sheikh Hasina being the daughter of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and Begum Khaleda Zia being the wife of Ziaur Rahman.

As Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition in the Jatiya Sangsad both Sheikh Hasina and Begum Khaleda Zia have made many mistakes, lapses and omissions.

The practice of Caretaker Government has turned into a fiasco due to differences of opinion, lack of understanding, cooperation and coordination among Sheikh Hasina, Begum Khaleda Zia and some political leaders and have created many problems, crisis in the country and sufferings for the people.

The Caretaker Government's efforts and endeavors for 'minus two formula', corruption cases and Truth Commission have also not produced any fruitful and constructive result.

The biggest question before us today is the holding of our stalled general election December 2008.

The will of the people is supreme. It is imperative that our Caretaker Government and political leaders may arrive at a consensus as to how and when the national general election 2008 and Upazila election would be held.

No matter which political party or parties come into power after our general election they must do away with the Caretaker Government system, should not beycott Jatiya Sangsad session, should not hold strikes and hartals and create violence and terrorism in the country.
