Air Arabia flight was delayed at Chittagong Shah
Amanat Airport yesterday following a bomb hoax.

A bomb threat reportedly delayed the take off of a aircraft of the Air Arabia here at Shah Amanat International Airport (SAIA) yesterday afternoon.

Officials of the SAIA said the captain of the airbus of the Air Arabia had sought immediate search inside the aircraft following a written threat of exploding the aircraft with 115 passengers on board.

Some of the on board crew of the aircraft found a chit that warned of a powerful bomb inside that would go off sometime after 12:00pm.

The claim scared the passengers and the crew. The captain refused to fly before intensive search by the security men.

No body claimed responsibility of the threat.

Later, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and other security forces checked the airbus but did not find any explosive. The RAB men detained a passenger Nasiruddin suspecting his involvement in scare mongering. The airbus finally took off for UAE two hours behind schedule.
