A total of 22,045 examinees obtained GPA-5 in the Higher Secondary Certificate examinations under nine education boards this year.

Of the 22,045 GPA-5 achievers, 13426 are male students and 8619 are female students.

A total of 11,140 students obtained GPA-5 in 2007, 9,864 in 2006, 5,534 in 2005 and 3,047 in 2004.

The highest number of 10,702 students secured GPA-5 from Dhaka Board followed by Rajshahi Board with 3,399, Jessore with 1,764, Chittagong with 1,270, Comilla with 957, Sylhet with 425, Barisal with 591, Madrassah Board with 2,886 and Technical Education Board with 51.

Notre Dame College under Dhaka Board topped all the institutions with 1189 GPA-5 achievers. Dhaka City College and Viqarunnisa Noon College secured the second and third position with 987 and 663 students obtaining GPA-5 respectively.
