Asian Development Bank (ADB) will provide US$ 14.6 million loan assistance to start design work of Padma Bridge this month.

The assurance was made by the newly appointed ADB Country Director Paul J Heytens when he called on Communication and Housing and Public Work Adviser Maj Gen (retd) Ghulam Quader at his office yesterday.

They discussed different issues relating to mutual interest particularly construction of Padma Bridge. Nurul Huda, Deputy Country Director and Senior Project officer Ahmed Faruq of ADB among others were present.

Earlier, the ADB Country Director met with Communication Secretary Dr Mahbubur Rahman at his office.
