President Professor Dr Iajuddin Ahmed on Tuesday expressed deep shock at the death of former secretary Qamrul Islam Siddiqui.

He mentioned the chequered career of late Qamrul Islam Siddiqui and said people would remember his contribution towards infrastructure development of the rural areas of Bangladesh.

The nation has lost an efficient and creative engineer in his death, Dr Iajuddin said.

The President prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the members of bereaved family.
