Indian Sarod artiste Rajrupa Chowdhury presented her solo performance at a function at the Bengal Shilpalaya in the city recently.

When she was five the promising Sarod artiste Rajrupa started playing Sarod under the guidance of Pranab Naha at the Ameer Khan School of Instrumental Music. She received thorough training from Siddhartha Roy Chowdhury, Joydeep Ghosh and Pandit Ajay Sinha Roy. She completed her MA in Music from Rabindra Bharati University in India obtaining the first class position. She is now taking special guidance from Pandit Sanjay Bandopadhyay.

She was born in Kolkata. For the last two she has been living in Dhaka with her husband architect Kashef Mahbub Chowdhury.

Rajrupa rendered Raga 'Emon,' 'Bagheshri' and others, which enthralled the audience at the Bengal Shilpalaya.

Musician Swarup Hossain played tabla to accompany her during her performance.
