Bollywood’s Hari Puttar film sparks lawsuit

Agency, India

Bollywood producers set to release a film called 'Hari Puttar: A Comedy of Terrors' are working to fend off a lawsuit filed by Warner Brothers that claims the movie title hews too closely to their mega-famous boy wizard franchise.

While Bollywood films often borrow liberally from Western movies, producers of 'Hari Puttar: A Comedy of Terrors' say their movie bears no resemblance to any film in the 'Harry Potter' series.

"There is absolutely nothing to link 'Hari Puttar' with 'Harry Potter," said Munish Purii, Chief Executive Officer of Mumbai-based producer Mirchi Movies. Hari is a common name in India and 'puttar' is Punabji for son, he said.

Hollywood: Lindsay Lohan lashes out at father on blog

AP, Los Angeles

Lindsay Lohan had words for her father on her blog. The 22-year-old actress lashed out at father Michael by calling him a 'public embarrassment' and a 'bully' in a MySpace blog entry posted Thursday. Earlier in the week, Michael said in an interview with E! that Lohan gal pal Samantha Ronson was 'using' his daughter.

Lohan's publicist, Leslie Sloane-Zelnik, confirmed the post by Lohan was legitimate.

"If you have something to say to me, say it to my face - that's what I have believed my whole life - don't be a coward and say it to others first, let alone all the media in the world," Lohan wrote.

The father and daughter have publicly quarrelled for years. Lohan said in the hyphen-laden blog post that she tried to make things work in hopes "of having a father again" and 'wanting things to change' despite what her mother and siblings have gone through with him.

Lohan continued: "Having said that - the people were right, and he is yet to change - but this time, without his daughter by his side - he has become a public embarrassment and a bully - to my family, my co-workers, my friends and a girl that means the world to me (it's obvious who that is)."
