Students of the Department of Drama and Dramatics of Jahangirnagar University yesterday urged the university authority to resume classes and examinations in the department resolving the ongoing stalemate.

Students under different academic sessions of the department submitted their memorandum to the Vice Chancellor of Jahangirnagar University (JU) Prof Dr Muniruzzaman urging him to resume classes and examinations, suspended for more than four months due to agitation of students to remove a teacher of the department.

Students in their memorandum stated that their (students) future is to be shattered due to impasse in the department. They want to get free from the suffocating situation created by another section of the students of the department.

Sources said that a section of teachers of the department is patronising the agitating students and trying to obstruct resumption of classes and examinations.

In this circumstances, most of the students of the department sought university authorities intervention to resolve the impasse.
