Three people were killed and two others injured in a fatal road accident at Baghata in Sadar upazila yesterday early morning.

The identities of the dead could not be known immediately.

Police and witnesses said the accident occurred on Dhaka-Sylhet highway when a microbus carrying newspapers rammed into a stationary truck at about 5:00am.

The microbus got twisted and three of its passengers died on the spot while two others sustained critical injuries.

The injured were rushed to the Sadar hospital.

Police recovered the bodies and sent those to the same hospital morgue for autopsy.
