A 10-day painting exhibition titled 'A Pageant of Forms and Figures' of 12 artists of Dhaka Art Circle was inaugurated at the Bengal Gallery of Fine Arts in the city yesterday.

Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Prof Nazrul Islam inaugurated the exhibition as chief guest.

A total of 47 art works of the artists of Dhaka Art Circle are taking place in the show.

A press conference was held in this regard at the Bengal Shilpalaya in the city on Thursday.

Artists Samarjit Roy Chowdhury and Biren Shome, Director of the gallery Subir Chowdhury and Sarwar Jahan were present at the press conference.

The artworks of Abu Taher, Samarjit Roy Chowdhury, Mohammad Mohsin, Syed Enayet Hossain, Anwarul Huq, Rejaul Karim, Biren Shome, Motaleb Ali, Swapan Chowdhury, Abdus Shakoor, Chandra Shekhar Dey and Rafi Haque are on display at the gallery.

The exhibition will end on August 31. The gallery remains open from 12:00 noon to 8:00pm everyday.
