A task force team comprising the District Narcotics Control Department (DNCD) and Police seized 27 bottles Phensidyl and arrested a female drug trafficker from Maligaon village in Sadar Upazila here on Thursday.

Police sources said the task force team led by executive magistrate Rezaul Bari raided the house of one drug trafficker Ashraful Islam in the village and seized the contraband phensidyl from the kitchen.

The team arrested Lailey Begum, 35, wife of Ashraful Islam though Ashraful managed to escape the scene sensing presence of the task force team.

A case was filed in this connection against the drug trafficker couple with Thakurgaon Sadar Thana, the sources said.
