Directorate of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has stopped the monthly payment order (MPO) of nine schools for their failure in making satisfactory result in secondary school certificate (SSC) examination.

The Directorate took punitive measure as the rate of passage of students in the schools is very low in the SSC examination in the year 2007 and 2008. A letter regarding stopping of MPO of nine schools from June 17 was sent to Agrani Bank, Jamalpur regional office.

The schools are Zarina Yar Uddin Girls School in Jamalpur Sadar, Baluata MA Rashid Girls School in Melandah, Barrister Abdus Salam Talukder High School in Sarishabari, Jharkata Girls School in Maderganj Hargila High School, Sapdhari High School, Belgasa Girls High School, No-4 Char High School and Dengar Gar Bazlul Haq High School in Islampur upazila.
