Quality education a must for sustainable development

Speakers at a reception here said there is no alternative to ensuring quality education and acquiring proper knowledge for building a prosperous, developed and corruption-free nation.

The teachers and students have moral obligation and responsibility for maintaining congenial atmosphere and making educational institutions as centres for acquiring knowledge and excellence, they added. The teachers have more responsibility for reviving the past glory and reputation in educating the students with their sincere dedications with a view to flourishing their talents to make them worthy and patriotic citizens of the country, they said.

They said this while addressing the grand reception accorded to the brilliant students of the upazila who got GPA-5 in the last SSC examinations from different educational institutions at Birampur upazila parishad auditorium in Dinajpur recently.

NGO Coordination Forum organised the reception ceremony that was chaired by manager of World Vision, Birampur Unit Office Timothy Uzzal Kanti Sarker.

Birampur UNO Abu Taher Mohammad Masud Rana attended the ceremony as the chief guest while Mayor of Birampur Municipality Hossain Ali Sarker, senior officials Nokibul Hassan and Dr Emar Uddin were present as the special guests. Upazila Muktijoddha Commander Lutfar Rahman Shah, businessman Abdul Aziz Sarker, Morshed Manik and headmaster Abdul Wazed Mandal and guardian Aziz Reza, addressed, among others.

Teachers and students of different educational institutions, local elite, government officials, professionals and guardians of the students were present on the occasion.

The chief guest later distributed certificates and crests among 31 GPA-5 students including female students of the upazila and the reception was followed by a cultural function.
