The New Nation - Internet Edition

I am faced with a quandary, perhaps someone can help me with. Like majority of Pakistanis, I also want ex-President Musharraf's (proverbial) head on the platter too. Just like any other law-abiding nation where no one stands above the law, Pakistanis should also open up investigations into Musharraf's alleged misdeeds.

If a genuine cause is found, throw the book at him. But for God's sake, don't give him another Get-out-of-jail Free card (NRO), like the he foolishly gave to those who so conveniently got their backs scratched, but drove a dagger in Musharraf's back when their turn to scratch his back came. Needless to say, served Musharraf right for signing such deals willy-nilly.

However, wouldn't I be a hypocrite for not demanding the same for the current beneficiaries of the parties specific NRO? For that matter, if the champions of constitutionality, like Mr. Zardari and Altaf Hussain can digest the infamous and unconstitutional NRO without any debate, what is stopping us from applying the same on the petty-thieves? Thieves who are rotting in jails, for as little crimes as mobile phone theft, without any hope of release? Hence my quandary?
