Recently shooting of the 52-episode drama serial 'Bidhubabur Haspatal’ has been completed at the village Malkhanagar in Sirajdikhan in Munshiganj. It is now in editing.

Shibli Quaiyum has directed the drama serial where Animesh Aich has scripted it.

Mamunur Rashid, Shahiduzzaman Selim, Deepa Khondaker, Jitu Ahsan, Tanvin Sweety, Wahida Mollik Jolly, KS Feroz, Shirin Alam, Kochi Khondaker, Shah Alam Dulal and others performed in different characters in the serial.

Story of Bidhubabur Haspatal:

A physician and social worker Mozaffar Ali has set up a hospital in his area. He took fund from Bidhubabu.

He is not only a doctor but also give knowledge and advice to the local people about health and education.

He spent all the day with his two associates Monifufu and Mrittunjoy. Mozaffar Ali is living in the building. He along with his younger brother Ilias, also owner of a pharmacy, his wife artist Urmi and their daughter Urmimala are living together. Rabeya, a woman, also living with them. The story continues with the social problems. Basically story of the serial represents the time period of 1978 to 2005.

Dance artiste Farzana Khan Ila gave birth to a beautiful baby boy under the supervision of Dr Shehrin Siddiqua at Central Hospital in the capital last week. The boy weighting 3.2kg has been named Arash-I-Noor. The baby joins his elder sister Jannat, who is 3 years and six months of age.

Both the mother and baby are in excellent health. The baby's parents sought blessings from all.

Apart from dancing, I1a has been associated with acting and modeling since long. After an around one-year break, she is expected to resume performing from next month.

Bollywood: Deepika, Mallya attend India Day parade in New York

Bollywood sensation Deepika Padukone lead the India Day parade as grand Marshal, as over 50,000 people, mostly Indian-Americans, cheered the over two dozen floats, richly decorated with patriotic themes as part of the independence day celebration here.

The parade showcasing Indian cultural heritage and fast expanding economy also fascinated dozens of tourists from several nations visiting the United States. Deepika Padukone, who stormed Bollywood with her debut film Om Shanti Om last year, was the grand Marshal of the parade, while industrialist Vijay Mallya was the chief guest. The Federation of Indian Associations, an umbrella organisation of several cultural and community bodies which organises the parade, said it had invited Mallya as a symbol of the fast growing economic power of India.

The procession culminated in a cultural show where 89-year old Manna Dey, a popular Indian playback singer of yesteryears, recited some of his renderings. President George Bush's protocol secretary Raymond Martinez attended on behalf of the US government the independence day dinner hosted by Indo-American President Andy Keshav Shenoy yesterday. He conveyed the good wishes of President Bush, first lady Laura Bush and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice and highlighted the growing cooperation between India and the US in several fields, from economy to military to that in combating terrorism.

There was much dancing: Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are married, according to reports.

In the biggest celebrity union since California legalized same-sex marriage, DeGeneres, 50, and de Rossi, 35, wed Saturday night in an intimate ceremony at their Beverly Hills home, People and Us Magazine reported. A publicist for DeGeneres confirmed People's report and gave no further comment. After the California Supreme Court's ruling in May, the talk-show host announced that she and de Rossi would wed after four years together.

The ceremony was attended by 19 guests, including DeGeneres' mom, Betty, and de Rossi's mother, Margaret Rogers, who had flown in from Australia. DeGeneres said after winning her fourth consecutive Daytime Emmy for talk show host in June that a date had not been set, and that she would show 'a tiny bit' of the nuptials on her show. While opponents in California have gathered signatures to put a measure on the November ballot for a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage, Hollywood was throwing its support behind the newlyweds.
