Three people were killed and 50 others injured as a bus plunged into a ditch at Halidhani in Sadar Upazila on Jhenidah-Chuadanga road Saturday morning.

The dead were indentified as Ziaur Rhaman, 29, Jahiruddin, 30 of Nathkundu of Sadar Upaizla and Shahjahan, 35 of Chuadanga district.

Witnesses said a Dhaka bound bus of JR Paribahan fell into a roadside ditch when its driver tried to give side to a truck, killing three passengers on the spot.

The injured passengers were rushed to Sadar hospital and various clinics.

Among the injured, condition of four passengers were stated to be critical.
