Nikhil Pandey, a newly recruited Sub-Assistant agriculture officer has been beaten openly by his boss Molla Safiar Rahman, Additional Director of Barisal Regional Agriculture Office on Saturday morning.

Then the agitated agriculture officials and staffs holding agitation gathering gave ultimatum demanding removal of Molla Safiar within next 48 hours or otherwise they will go on hard action. A memorandum also been handed over to Divisional Commissioner of Barisal on Saturday evening. In the memorandum and witnesses of the incident said that Additional director called interview for fixing posting places of some newly recruited Sub Assistant Agriculture officials on Saturday morning.

Nikhil Pandey, a Sub Assistant Agriculture Officer while waiting in front of the office room of the Additional Director Molla Safiar to attend the interview, suddenly Molla coming out from his room beat Nikhil and used filthy language on him. The office staffs rescued Nikhil from the hands of Molla and immediately holding agitation meeting demanded punishment and removal of Molla within 48 hours.

Local agriculture officials said Molla was intoxicated during the incident and he often openly drink alcohol and engaged in immoral and anti-social activities in the office and illegally occupied rest house of the department.

The administration and activities of this vital department has been broken down due in the whole region due to illegal and immoral activities of this Additional Director, they added.
