RU BCL demands immediate execution of Bangabandhu murder case verdict

The Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) of Rajshahi University (RU) unit on Monday observed token hunger in front of central library premises demanding execution of the Bangabandhu Murder Case verdict.

Campus sources said, hundreds of leaders and activists of BCL and other progressive organization jointly held a token hunger strike in front of central library from 12pm to 1:30 pm, which followed a meeting.

BCL leaders demanded execution of the verdict of Bangabandhu Murder Case without further delay to stop politics of murder in the country once for all.

BCL leaders blamed former BNP-Jamaat government for protecting the killers of Bangabandhu and called upon the government for execution of the verdict.

They said the BNP-Jamaat axis is creating obstacle against the verdict.

They threatened to launch a tougher agitation against the government if the verdict is not executed without further delay.

RU unit join secretary Azim Bin Kamal, organizing secretary Abdullah-Al- Masud, publication secretary Sumon Kanti, BCL leader Al-Helel Prince, Sheikh Masud, Sharmin Aktar Ila, Joy, Dipayan Sarkar, Komol, Suvro, and former city BCL vice president Pankaj Kumar also addressed on the programme.

Later, former RU student advisor Professor Chowdhury Sarwar Zahan Sajal broke their hunger strike by drenching juice.

He also said that Bangabandhu was the only great man who led and made an independent Bangladesh.

He called on the people to come forward to foil all the conspiracies against the execution of the verdict in the case.

Amra Muktijoddhar Santan (sons and daughters of freedom fighters) of RU unit also expressed their solidarity with the BCL RU unit programme.

They also demanded immediate execution of the verdict in Bangabandhu Murder Case.
