Workers at four garment factories here yesterday stopped work and staged demonstrations to realize their various demands, including payment of arrears and removal of five labor leaders, as a latest spell of unrest continued jolting the export industry.

The four factories are Beximco Fashion Ltd, Tista High Fashion and A-One in Dhaka Export Processing Zone (DEPZ) and Jonoran Sweater Factory in Nishchintapur area of Ashulia.

But the situation in Jamgara area, where Sunday's labor unrest took place, returned to normal today (Monday).

Some 2,000 workers from Beximco Fashion demonstrated in front of Customs gate of DEPZ at 12 noon, demanding payment of their arrears.
