Price hike during Ramzan

It is a common scene of Bangladesh that in the holy Ramzan some dishonest businessmen and middlemen try to swell the price of the necessary food ingredients as well as the other products.

Though the holy Ramzan is the month of abstention and self-evaluation but forgetting the moral or ethical ideals price is increased with making the artificial scarcity of food and other domestic products by some sorts of people. It is often forgotten by some particular traders and businessmen that upholding the religious sentiments in the holy Ramzan is very much essential to achieve the benefit of the later life.

Being a Muslim nation it is a very shocking practice for our nation. As this malpractice creates a lot of problems to this poor country for a small profit of some persons, therefore, it needs to oversee the market condition by the watchdog. It has already been decided that RAB and other law enforcing authorities will oversee the market condition which needs to be more acute and careful so that any person would not be possible to make the artificial shortage of regular foodstuffs.

Some importers showed less interest to import necessary foodstuffs which may put an impact on the market situation and thus may lead to price hike.. They should be given proper facilities and incentives by the government so that they feel safe in their business importing necessary food grains.

A proper monitoring, developing the moral or ethical standard and the idealism can play a vital role in the month of Ramzan to cope with the problem associated with price hiking.
