A middle-aged housewife was killed by unknown assailant at Chhota Gaziapara village under Sadar Upazila on Tuesday night.

The victim was identified as Momena Yesmin Hasna, 40, wife of retired Army Sergeant Sajjadul Karim. Police said Hasna was sleeping with her daughter in her room keeping the window open. The miscreants entered into her room and killed her with sharp weapon at around 11 PM. Her husband was at his poultry farm adjacent to their house during the incident. Police recovered the body and sent it to Jamalpur General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
