The shotgun, snatched away from a police constable at Gafargaon upazila in Mymensingh district on Monday, was recovered from Mirzar char area of the upazila on Thursday.

Dacoits took away the shotgun with nine bullets from the constable after stabbing him on Gafargaon-Hossainpur road in the upazila on Monday night.

The injured constable Niranjan is undergoing treatment at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Four bullets were recovered and five people arrested on Tuesday in an operation carried out by a team comprising police from Kishoreganj and Mymensingh districts and RAB-9 troops.

The joint force recovered the shotgun in abandoned condition from Mirzar char at 3am today.

Four police constables were suspended for negligence of duty.

Kishoreganj Police Super Md Mizanur Rahman said joint operation to nab the terrorists will continue.
