Verbruggen credits IOC with helping ease internet curbs

AFP, Paris

Hein Verbruggen, chairman of the International Olympic Committee's Coordination Commission at the Beijing Games, on Saturday credited the IOC with negotiating the partial reopening of internet access by Chinese authorities.

And Verbruggen said that the Chinese had gone further than their commitment to the IOC.

"The Chinese even went further by authorising them to do reports on general subjects.
