One killed, 22 hurt in Rupganj bus dacoity

Daring bus dacoity was committed on the 25th July near Hazi Karims house on the Golakaindail-Baliapara Road at Rupganj in Narayanganj. The robbery went on till 3 PM . A gang of robbers attacked buses one after another & looted valuables including mobiles and ornaments from the passengers. During dacoity robbers killed a fruit trader & looted his belongings. The killed was identified as Hossain Ali, 34, son of Shamshu Mia of Baliapara village under Araihazar Upazila. The witnesses said. ''A total of 15/16 dacoits with arms attacked passengers of different buses &snatched all of their belongings." A tempo driver Halim Mia 27, a trader Shahid Mia 25 and Yeasin Mia, 30, of Darikandi village were fatally wounded among other 22 injured by the massive attack of dacoits when they came to help the passengers tried to prevent dacoity.

The wounded were given treatment from the local hospitals of Bhulta.

On information the Assistant Police Super of the Narayanganj district and the O.C, Rupganj Thana, visited the spot. Two separate cases were filed in the Rupganj Thana and the dead body was sent to the morgue for autopsy.
