A life-sentenced prisoner of Jhalakati district jail died of old age complications at Barisal SBMCH on Monday early morning. Hospital and police sources said that Md. Ali Hossain, 73, a convicted prisoner for life term, was rushed to Barisal SBMCH on Sunday from Jhalakati district jail after he became sick.

He died at SBMCH on Monday early morning due his old age complications and his dead body handed over to relatives after lodging a case of unnatural death with Barisal Kotwali police station on Monday afternoon. Ali Hossain was serving life term rigorous imprisonment along with other six convicts since 1995 for murdering School Teacher Malek Master of Nalchhity under Jhalakati district on November 19, 1990.
