2000 poor people receive free treatment in Faridpur



UNB, Faridpur

Some 2000 poor people received free treatment at a medical camp at Kamargram in Alamdanga upazila Friday.

Mother Teresa Society organized the camp from 9am to 5pm with the help of district administration and local elite.

The poor people of the village were given prescriptions and medicines free of cost. About 15 physicians from home and abroad provided the treatment to the patients.

Adviser of the society Khairuzzaman Shipon said medicines worth Tk 5 lakh were distributed among the poor patients.

A discussion meeting was also held at Alamdanga Adarsha Kamargram Degree College on the occasion with a view to create health awareness among the people.

Captain (retd) Dr Masudur Rahman presided over the meeting while Khulna Range DIG Asaduzamman PPM, Professor of Darog Institute Dr Kazi Abdul Hasan, Adviser of the society Kazi Khairuzzaman Shipon and Silva Pharmaceutical Director Mollik Mahmud spoke on the occasion.
