A delegation of Jahangirnagar University Journalists Association (JUJA) on Tuesday called on President Professor Dr Iajuddin Ahmed at Bangabhaban.

The delegation, led by Vice Chancellor of the University Professor Dr Mohammad Muniruzzaman, apprised the President of their different development activities and ensuring quality education in the university.

The President gave a patient hearing to the delegation and called for putting their efforts to build a knowledge-based society in the country.

He also asked the students to visit famous universities in SAARC countries and share experience and knowledge to prepare themselves to meet the challenges of globalization.

He said there is no alternative to acquiring updated knowledge to face the worldwide competition in this current global context.

Professor Iajuddin also called upon the journalists to uphold objectivity and national interest in preparing their news.

Director of Student Welfare Centre of JU Professor ATM Atiqur Rahman, President of JUJA Fuhad Hossain, Vice-President SM Masum Khan, General Secretary Khairul Hasan Munna, Joint Secretary Rafiqul Islam Alok and Treasurer Al Amin, among others, were present.

Secretary of the President's Office Md Sirajul Islam, Military Secretary to the President Major General Mohammad Ruhul Amin and President's Press Secretary Abdul Awal Howleder were also present.
