Six passengers were killed in the head-on collision
between two buses on Dhaka-Mawa Highway at Maligram area
under Bhanga upazila of Faridpur district yesterday.

At least six people were killed and 50 others injured in a head-on collision between two buses on Dhaka- Khulna highway near Maligram bus stand under Bhanga upazila in Faridpur district yesterday morning.

Police and local people said, a Khulna-bound bus of 'Banaful Paribahan' coming from Dhaka collided with a Dhaka-bound bus from Gopalganj at about 11.30 am killing four women on the spot and injuring 52 others.

Two of the critically injured died when they were rushed to the Bhanga Health Complex. Of the deceased, one was identified as Maria, 40, of Bikrampur in Munshiganj while the others could not be identified immediately.

The injured were admitted to Bhanga health complex and Faridpur Medical College Hospital where condition of 19 injured were stated to be critical.

Police recovered the bodies and sent those to district medical college hospital morgue for autopsy. A case been filed in the respective police station.
