Speakers at a gathering of reminiscence claimed that freedom fighter and journalist Mohammad Idris had been the icon of professional honesty, integrity and courage.

Recalling his uncompromising role in different democratic movements they said his leadership worked well in uniting journalist community against terrorism and injustice.

"Mohammad Idris's demise inflicted irreparable off to the society and in the arena of progressive thinking," they said while paying tributes to the torchbearer of the journalist community.

Professor Mohammad Sikander Khan, journalist Aurun Das Gupta, former CUJ President Ataul Hakim, Anjan Kumar Sen and brother of late Idris Mohammad Yusuf among others addressed it.
