Nobel Peace Prize, exhibition 'Jobra to Oslo’ and Professor Mjøs



The Nobel Peace Centre had organized an exhibition in Oslo as part of Professor Mohammad Yunus and Grameen Bank's auspicious achievement in being jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize 2006 for their role in poverty eradication through micro credit. This exhibition now titled 'Jobra to Oslo' has been reproduced in Dhaka by Drik Picture Library and features images, texts, audio stations and video presentation of the memorable events relating to the Nobel Peace Prize 2006.

Professor Ole Danbolt Mjøs, Chairman of the Norwegian Nobel Committee and Ms. Bente Erichsen, Director of the Nobel Peace Centre were present in Bangladesh to inaugurate the exhibition housed at the Grameen Bank Headquarter in Dhaka.

Professor Mjøs during his stay met lots of people including journalists, bureaucrats, diplomats and many other outstanding persons. He also met people who had benefited by receiving loans from Grameen Bank. During this time on several occasions he addressed students and as well as the general people of Bangladesh to inspire them to join global peace building process.
