A woman and a minor girl were killed and a teenaged girl was injured in separate incidents in the district on Sunday.

Police said Bithi, 6, crushed under the wheels of a truck at Bechir crossing in Chouhali upazila at about 10.30am.

Meanwhile, a woman was killed and her daughter injured when a wall of their house collapsed at the Road and Highways Department Office premises in the district town on Sunday. Witnesses said the wall of the house of R&H Department driver Saiful Islam collapsed at about 1:30pm during heavy rain, killing his wife Shefali,35, on the spot.

Saiful's daughter Banya, 15, sustained severe injuries in the wall collapse incident. She was admitted to Sadar Hospaital.
