Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) has identified 101 polling centres as vulnerable while 96 others most vulnerable in 31 wards of the city corporation for the mayoral election slated for August 4.

KMP has taken necessary preparations to maintain law and order during the election. Some 5,500 police and ansar personnel will be deployed during the election. Besides, RAB and BDR men will be kept on patrol duty on the day.

The voters will cast votes in 1,165 booths in total 239 polling centres in the city. Official sources said already, 239 presiding officers, 1,165 assistant presiding officers and 2,230 polling officers have been recruited for successfully conducting the polls.
