A businessman got entrapped along with his son in an ill plot he hatched for his neighbour with whom he has a dispute over land.

Police said the businessman secretly kept illegal firearms at his neighbour's house with a motive to indict the neighbour in an arms case but police finally able to dig out the conspiracy and caught the businessman named Haji Fayez Ahmad and his son Saifullah with two illegal firearms, CMP sources said.While going through the whole episode, police also arrested six other miscreants along with two firearms on Sunday night.Sources said a police team earlier nabbed Absar for his involvement in different criminal activities in the city.During interrogation, he admitted that he had sold one light gun and a single barrel gun to Haji Foyez Ahmed, a businessman in Khatunganj area of the city at a cost of Taka 2.25 lakh.Later, police in a drive, arrested the businessman and his son from their house at Hill view residential area under Pahartali thana. Following their confession, police recovered two firearms from the room of their security guard.The businessman admitted that he purchased the arms to keep those secretly inside the house of his neighbour and indict him in arms case.

He said that he designed the plot to give his neighbour a lesson with whom he had previous enmity over a piece of land.Meanwhile, following confessional statement of Absar, police recovered two more firearms---one form his house and another from the possession his accomplice Nazim.

Police also arrested four members of a criminal gang who were identified as Imon, Jamal, Kader and Jashim from different parts of the city, sources said.
