Festival: 2 young Bangladeshi filmmakers participate Iranian film festival Entertainment Desk Two Bangladeshi young filmmakers recently attended the 22nd Hamedan International Film Festival in Iran. In the film festival, reputed and well-known filmmakers were invited to judge short films while child jury members were called to evaluate full-length adult films. Hamedan is an old part of the city in Iran. From Bangladesh Arjo Sreshtho and Shiropa Purna, prize-winning young directors, attended the festival to represent the country. There were 25 children from 13 countries, apart from 10 adults. While the prizes were given at Hamedan, the selections were done in Tehran. This was disclosed at a press conference at Bengal Café in the city recently. In the conference, Arjo said, "It was a great opportunity for me to see that part of the Middle East. I found the cities beautiful and the people hospitable and cheerful. I had gone there to judge films with other children and adults from different parts of the world, like Italy, Germany and Spain." "I made friends with the other young jurists and spoke to the adults, from where I gained a lot of experiences," she said. They had to judge more than 15 films from Indonesia, Iran, Italy and Germany. After the discussion a documentary film, made by Arjo, on their visit to Iran was screened at the conference.
